Kew Gardens Trip - Year 2Posted on: January 10, 2020
On Thursday 9th January, Year 2 visited Kew Gardens. We visited the Palm Conservatory and experienced what it felt like to be in a rainforest. It was humid and wet with large plants all around us. Then we became 'Kew Scientists' as we learnt about the parts of a plant and what a plant needs to grow. As scientists, we had a chance to look at flowers up close using microscopes; we learnt about seed dispersion and made observational drawings of beautiful flowers. After lunch, we went to the playground and then visited the Princess of Wales conservatory where we discovered a wide range of cacti. Sadly that's all we had time for and had to return back to school!
